CAPSTONE Cup

Tournament Format

The tournament will follow a 2 day playing schedule.

Day 1 will consist of teams will competing in randomly assigned group stages before culminating in a play off fixture to establish whether they progress to the cup or bowl knock out competition.

Day 2 sees teams compete in a range of knockout games to decide who will be the ultimate victor.

N.B. All teams are guaranteed a number of games on day 2, even if they get knocked out in the first round

The tournament will be broken into the following competition categories:

Details

• Teams are welcome to join the competition category that suits their playing needs. Please see the guide below for more details.

  • ‘Club’ competitions - This is for more competitive teams who are maybe regularly competing in a league structure. Age restrictions - Player must be 16+

  • ‘Social’ competitions - This is for teams who enjoy the social aspect of playing football. Whilst the competitive instincts are still there, maybe the fitness is not… Age restriction - Players must be 16+

  • ‘Veteran’ competitions - This are for teams who are looking for a slightly slower pace of game. Age restriction - Players must be 35+

  • ‘Open’ competitions - This is an open category for all abilities and ages. Age restriction - Players must be 16+

Tournament rules

General

• 7 a side competition

• Max squad size - 12

• Teams must have a uniformed kit with numbers

• Game length - 2 × 20 minute halves with a 7 minute half time

Rules of Football

• All teams and players must follow and adhere to the FIFA laws of the game

Event Itinerary

• Show respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and coaches

• Respect the integrity and judgment of officials

• Exhibit fair play, sportsmanship, and proper conduct at all times.

• Maintain a high level of safety awareness

• Refrain from the use of profanity, vulgarity, or other offensive behaviours

• Adhere to the established rules and standards of the game to be played

• Understand that this is a family event and conduct should reflect this environment

• Any violence or threat of violence will not be tolerated and will be handed over directly to local law enforcement

• Any negative behaviour deemed persistent, racist, violent or unsafe will result in tournament disqualification and removal from the premises
